First and foremost, another mummy picture, this model who shall remain nameless was easy and wonderful to work with. What I can tell you about him is that he is 6'6" (he was huge! In every way you're thinking ;) also wrapping the mummy is as much fun as unwrapping the mummy.

Lisle Taaje sent me copy of his book "tricks" (thank you for the kind and unexpected gift)

anyway the concept of the book is very simple, it's polaroids of the guys he has slept with for the last 10 or so years (simple and effective) the refreshing change is that these are not models, their real guys who are about to or already have been FU@%ED! Classic. Classic. Classic! This is the perfect example of a traditional Halloween costume (turned sexy) and it's not your fault if the bandages didn't want to stay on. (Yes... he should have been wearing underwear) although... I am fairly certain that Egyptian mummies did not wear underwear either, this is a case of historical accuracy! (At its best) even if you don't go full Monty, this costume offers you the opportunity to show what you want and hide what you don't want to show.

I decided to set a project for myself for the month of October. I have invited several models over for a photo shoot, with the intent of coming up with clever and sexy Halloween costumes!!! Not all will be original ( I imagine there'll be a lot of sexy naked vampires ) anyway, this project is a great way for young Hollywood actors who wished to remain anonymous, yet have a burning exhibitionist streak to be photographed without anybody knowing it's them.

I was going to post about the underwear that I have been working on, and.... I noticed it's been a while since I've blogged... okay, I think about it everyday (not blogging). I had some kind of mental block stopping me. No idea why??? I do know that I recently suffered" something" that is hard for me to deal with (I am intentionally being vague) this "incident" has left me a little off or broken in the head and heart. Up until now my approach to fix this has been... Time heals all wounds, and I do believe time will. However in the gray unresolved area in which I have been living, I have been developing bad habits, excluding myself from life and having fights (for no reason )with people who are near and dear to me. I am actively working to correct my life. Please be patient with me.

I'm going to have to look at both sides for this posting, first the bad and then... the positive?

As some of you know I was accepted to the 2011 Seattle erotic Art fair. ( I'm told it's the largest erotic art fair in the world) the thing I like most about this affair is its intention to show sex in a positive light. Instead of attending I shipped four pieces of original artwork, unfortunately I did not sell any of them. (Bummer!!) I will say... This is the first art fair I have ever attended where I did not sell any art.

Now a look at the positive side. A representative at the art fair told me that my artwork " generate a lot of interest" that's good. Thousands of people who've never seen my work before, have now been exposed to me. AND out of the over 2,500 artists who applied only 200 were accepted and I was one of them.

Here's a look at the frames I designed to display my artwork. I wanted something that would make my work stand out and at the same time work in a lot of different environments.

I photographed it on to extreme backgrounds, to show that color and texture work with the frame and not against the artwork.

A fear of painting....

Not necessarily a fear.. or a how-to,.. But the journey of painting itself...(for me),. Obviously you should read these pictures from left to right as if you're reading a book. Commitment.I start with no commitment. I'm using a pre-primed gray canvas, white paint lets me configure my shapes.violet paint lets me determine them. Orange, turquoise, and dark green allow me to find my shadows... just like a happy tree ( any Bob Ross fans???)

Next I start defining lines,this is the time to be bold, as you can see I've outlined the penis....

at this point I have a pretty good idea of where I'm going... it's all about clean lines and expression, also I felt that the canvas was empty.. to me this is a dark painting, a sensual place... alone but not wanting to be.So adding red to his background to seem like the perfect accent.

Wait no!... I hate it!!!!!! white out everything! Don't be afraid to start over (in paintings and in life) if you did it once... you can do it again, probably better. However I was too close to this painting, what I didn't realize at the time was I connected his belly to his elbow ( making him fat)

I go back in with deep purple some blacks... but I've lost interest so I white out again. But, by this time I lost interest... I have never finished this painting it's rolled up in my pile of used canveas...

My friends give me all kinds of shit because I wear makeup out.....( sometimes) Lord have mercy on our souls. For the longest time I've been working on my product line, (no outside companies with other opinions.) I really had no idea how hard it is to pull all the elements of having your own line together. For over a year now I have been putting my time and my money into what I believe to be a distinct line of garments and household accessories, (and I'm not even finished) BUT!!! I have enough developed to start doing photo shoots. The last three days I've been overseeing model and product photo sessions.

The first thing I HAVE to talk about is my model, Jared Michaels. Just so you know, he is a delightful human being. Anybody who says otherwise can talk to me and I will sort them out. He was up for anything, has an amazing body and is willing to try new things. (Love him!)

I don't know why but I've been stuck in a very bad place lately, everything around me is looking up. Yet I feel down, so uncontrollably down that I don't want to talk to anyone about it. I think when you're out of balance in your life it's hard to blog and talk to people. I don't want a "Debbie downer" or a boo-hoo situation, but if you know me... you know I'm lost. Good things keep happening to me, and I'm trying to keep up, trying to keep pace when all I want to do is drink and watch TV. I'm a smart man so I know this sounds... (ridiculous.) I have tried to work it out privately, but that's not working. I was just watching Oprah ( cliché yes) and she asked Jennifer Aniston the question what would you tell your 20-year-old self????????? I am newly 34 so that was 14 years ago. I wish to go a little deeper. (Joke always intended) before I start asking the younger me questions... I feel as though I should tell you why I'm answering them in front of you. The one response that I get to my blog is..... "I have never read a blog from start to finish before" I feel that I have fallen silent because making happiness is too much for me right now. And the burden of knowing I have to talk to you is adding unneeded gilts my life. (The truth hurts!!) Also you should know I recently suffered a back injury. ( And that just makes you feel old.) So with the above knowledge, let's play the game what would you ask Ethan????

Question one.... U GAY??? Yes, if you look at this picture of me at five years old, and think anything but... oh... honey, he is for-sure gay. Then you are fooling yourself. Why must we trick ourselves? Why if other people have the answers do they hold back? These are questions you cannot ask a five-year-old, but guidance would've saved me years of shame and embarrassment.

Now in Los Angeles, the city of Angels and lost dreams. At this moment I was too stupid to be mad at myself. I was young and ready to fall in love with a woman, and have lots of babies. What would I ask him?? Or what would I tell him? First, I would tell him to start drawing, (because I was not painting and drawing at this time in my life) I thought I was an untalented buffoon, and at any moment someone was going to call me out. Exposing the truth that I was not only,... gay but ...untalented.

So I have to tell him something valuable to make myself feel better today. The thing is, that I look at myself and I think I was happy then. ( Yes I was working on coming out and all that) but today... I feel used. And in the way I could not warn him about. (Not sexually) but mentally. Look at me. A straight F. student ( well not straight :0 ) yes I forgot to mention my dyslexia and how I could not pass one single course in high school. Maybe I was stronger than? Maybe... I would not let the word failure to penetrate me. I need to find my way back to strong. And if that includes ignorance, then, so be it. Stupid is better than feeling like this.

A lot of my friends are artists, sometimes when I have friends coming over, I'll hire a model to sit for us or we'll raid the Halloween costume box and do each others make up and take pictures. It probably sounds goofy but I can guarantee you it's a lot of fun.

I have been sorting through and trying to organize all my work. I tell people that in the beginning I only drew women, while sorting through some old work I found out that was not true. I came across this watercolor I did (when I was "straight") the model was also "straight"we were just two straight guys siting in a room, I remember when he started his post he wasn't hard, but as I drew he got harder and harder. He was embarrassed and I told him "it happens all the time" just to settle his nerves. What I didn't tell him was that I was in agonizing pain as I grew harder I had nowhere to go so it kept pressing into my zipper ( I didn't want to adjust because I thought he would think I was gay.) We never fooled around, and as we departed he said "we should do this again sometime" I never called him again.

" Intervention" a television program on the A&E network follows the lives of people and the family of people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. Because the show is sometimes difficult to watch I have created a drinking game to accompany it. The rules are simple, every time someone cries you do a shot. There are two exceptions, exception one... the mother, they always cry therefore it's a half shot. Exception two... the emotionally unavailable father, when he cries... double shot!! If you cry, you are f-ed up and the game is over.

Today's story is coming to us from Dino Phillips (not only is he a famous porn star, but he also manages my promotions and kicks my ass when I get lazy) he told me this story about bottoming on a porn shoot, and I thought this image went perfect with the story.

He was a last-minute fill-in (pun intended) for the bottom who just canceled. The camera crew for some reason didn't know his name and kept saying things like... The image above is not my work, this is another artist's drawing of me. I could tell you his name, but his work looks so much like mine do I really need that competition on my blog?? Here's what I will do, if the artists (and you know who you are) reads my blog... he is more than welcome to give himself credit in my comments section.

The story behind the drawing... I regularly attended this sketching "salon". It's a great experience to sit around with other gay artist and sketch ( smoke n'hot naked models in erotic poses) this particular day I was producing crap. Nothing. Everything I drew sucked! When the model when on break the other artists were talking about how they wanted to keep drawing. I stood up and said " I'll pose" before they could answer I took off my shirt, my pants and underwear and jumped up on the box. At the moment I was thinking... yes! I live life to the fullest! I'm pretty fucken Awesome to get up here get naked in front of all these guys. (Then I could feel myself start to get hard) so I started thinking of math... 2+2 is 4, 4+4 is 8, 8+8 is 16... please don't get hard. Anyway, the other guys drew me, one of guys gave me his drawing which is the one pictured above.

When I got home I was thinking, "what the hell was I thinking" getting naked in front of my peers! Oh God I feel so stupid! I love living in the moment but to be completely honest I regret it a lot.

It's okay to suck!!

Obviously the doors wide open with the title of this posting, many a funny things could be said about "it's okay to suck". And let's be honest it is okay to suck. And that is exactly what I did in the drawing above. Suck. Now that I think about it I have a funny story about sucking.

Many many moons ago I was working with this adorably cute model, I was in a monogamous relationship and my boyfriend was out of town. ( So convenient) this guy was putting every single move on me and I had to keep saying no.

So a year passes, I've ended the relationship I was in and I was standing in line outside of Mickey's (before it burned down) and I see this model, I yelled to him hello and I'm single now. Honestly in a crowd full of gays waiting to go into a gay bar I'm yelling hello and I'm single. He walks over to me and smiles the cutest smile, grabs my hand and says "I want to show you something" we walk a block away and he points to a Billboard above the car wash on Santa Monica Blvd. there he was, his smiling face larger than life on the Billboard. I was congratulating him and telling him how cool I thought it was, when I realized we had been walking and were in the middle of a bunch of apartment buildings. He takes me to this parking structure, it wasn't even a parking structure it was small (it could hold 10 cars... maybe) and had big open air windows on all sides of it. We go to the corner (I don't know why... you can see everything from every direction in that parking garage.) He gets on his knees, undoes my pants and goes to "work". It was wonderful, but I know he has an amazing body. I have dreamed of running my hands all over his amazing body. I'm trying to do that awkward thing where you bend over the person, try and touch and feel what you can, but if you're standing up and they are on their knees, you can forget about grabbing the parts you want. Anyway, I'm nervous about getting caught and he's doing a great "job" and I notice he's been stroking himself this whole time. Within 15 minutes of entering the parking garage we both had a happy ending, he stood up to button his fly, I told him to turnaround pulled his pants back down (he has the cutest butt) and like a true gentleman he leaned forward so I could truly appreciate it. Then we went our separate ways, and I have never seen him again.

Hello, is this thing on?? I just finished reading my entire blog, I had a lot to say. ( A LOT) I can't believe some of the things I've said and I can't believe how long I've been keeping this up.( As cheesy as this is going to sound) the best part is hearing from you. I just read some comments I didn't even know I had, and they made me feel wonderful... dare I say, glamorous! I love that you love my crazy wild messy line drawings.

However... I have a counter on this blog, and I see the number of people who pass through here week by week. Y'all are quiet! Honestly if you love it or hate it I love hearing from you. I have it set up so you can leave comments anonymously... and if you leave nasty mean comments, I'll read them over and over again while touching myself inappropriately, uncontrollably sob over the fact that I disrespected myself as I pleasured myself and then delete your bitchy-ass comment.

While partying in West Hollywood for Halloween (a friend of mine) who was completely inebriated got into a fight with his boyfriend. The fight of courses was about something stupid like... "I think you're ignoring me" Bla, Bla, Bla... anyway, as my friend was telling me about the fight he had, he said " now that I am telling you the story it sounds as though I was pretty childish." Luckily I had an idea to easily remedy this situation. Simply send your friend a text explaining that you are tired and don't want to fight, please come over after you get off work and if I'm asleep wake me up. Then all you have to do is get naked and pretend to fall asleep, and if at all possible have your legs slightly open with your Butt facing the door. This way he'll be immediately distracted with sex, and be reminded of why he fell in love with you in the first place.

I wonder if I should have some kind of disclaimer,.... like I'm not a therapist nor a relationship counselor. But I think my idea could work??

This is a drawing I did for a client who hired me to design a Halloween costume that was a revealing new twist on the classic. My concept was see-through mummy. Sorry for not blogging for a week or so, I'm depressed... I know I am. It seems the only thing I can accomplish lately is laying on the couch and watching marathons of "law and order SVU" and having a cocktail (s) ... I'll get over it, I always do :)

A wise man once said, "it's not the destination but the journey that counts" I think it was Oprah. I find myself, reminding... (myself) of this daily. We are all going to end up 6 feet under someday, and getting upset about little minute. details seems like a waste of time. I think the same principle can be applied to men, (meaning that) it's not all about getting off, it's the journey of over the river and through the wood and landing on that sweet destination that is equally as important.

I have no idea what I'm doing, (this applies to all aspects of my life). My art is supposed to be a freaking outlet! Yet I question myself every day, am I crossing a line? Will people respect me as a serious artist? I like being funny. I don't like being serious. Most importantly, I love being gay.

I don't know where I'm going with this blog, but I like the idea of.... useless, funny, and overly obvious postings that I can tie into bright colorful images of guys having fun. So that's what I'm going to do.

A friend of mine a (girl)...( a lesbian) nevertheless a friend cannot understand why men (gay men) eat between the cheeks. Without confirming or denying that I have been there ;) I would like to ask the question, or defend the question. why? I would think on approach it to be one of the scariest acts you would ever engage in, you have the fly by sniff.. just to check... you're not committing to anything... you're just checking. Once you determine the target to be clean you go in for a landing. I would guess it tastes like batterys, shocking and full of energy with a bit of an acid undertone. and I don't know if this is a mother issue or not but once you nestled into that warm flesh it's comparable to laying your head between two large breasts. I imagine this to be a very comfortable feeling.

I should really do my research before I post a blog, but I'm short on time so here we go. This Randy blue model ( whose name I have forgotten) did live show where he gave away one of my T-shirts to a lucky viewer!!! Then he turned around and started to talk about my artwork, ( I'm paraphrasing not quoting) .....

what very few people know about me is that I actually went to art school, and this guy's work is really great. I love the proportion the use of space and the use of negative space, it's really great.

When I find time, I'll watch it again to get the actual quote, what he said was much better!!

When I designed my T-shirts, I was thinking that I was designing them for men. So you can imagine how surprised I was when women started buying my T-shirts. I shared my thoughts with a lady who was buying one and she said " your work is for anyone who's a fan of the penis, and I'm a big fan"

Pictured above is my accountant, (I love her so much!!) One day while doing my books at the studio and oversized print of two guys going at it was delivered, I intentionally kept the print out of her view. Ray (a friend of mine) and I were talking about how great the print looked, Suzy asked if she could see it. Ray and I looked at each other, and told her it was best that you probably didn't see it. About an hour later she came up to me and said ( in a very stern mother voice) " I am a 45-year-old woman, and if I would like to see two guys going at it that is my prerogative! And I don't need you or anyone else protecting me from gay-ness." I showed her the print.

The other day I had to go over to her house and she introduced me to her assistant, her assistant covered her eyes and said " I know all about you Ethan. " I was shocked. ( I laughed it off and left) what was she thinking???? That if you look at me you will be exposed to erotic gay things?? (Weird!)

Summer is the name of a girl I once dated, many moons ago. It is also my favorite time of year. People who don't know Los Angeles say one of the things that they hate about it is the fact that there are no seasons, (and the traffic) if they lived here, I know they would see that each season is clearly defined. Why on gods green earth would I post such an unattractive picture of me??? ( My Internet wasn't working this morning so I almost didn't, I think the universe is trying to tell me something.) Don't do it!
Here's the situation, I have not worked out in over a year. I drink vodka like it's water. And my trips to McDonald's are becoming more frequent. I can't seem to make myself work out.
My 33 year old body is crying for help, on top of that I'm not letting anyone touch my squishy body. ( I've had offers.) I figure what I needed is motivation, somebody to report to... ( you )

Week one: 5'11" 140 pounds ( when I'm in my best shape I weigh 150 - 155 pounds) if this posting mysteriously disappears... that means I give up... and I'm having a martini.

I had this model ask if I ever have sex with the guys who sit for me, ( he was asking if we could.) Believe it or not I do try and keep things professional, (most of the time;) if you add relations one of two things will happen, the model will never return, or if they do come back they think it's a booty call. So I told him... " I'm a professional, I do things professionally" - Montana Moorehead "soap dish" we laughed about the movie and continued to draw. He started talking about how he likes to draw but that he was having difficulty with the penis. He explained that it never looks natural or that it " hung right". I was really excited, this was the opportunity to impart my wisdom for a fellow artist! I was sitting on the floor with my pencils and paper, he got up and stood right in front of me. Using himself as an example, he explained where he had difficulties and I was trying to show him how to work them out. Before long it wasn't a pencil that I was holding, I then realized ...It was a trap, and I fell for it hook, line and sinker.

I have drawn several guys from this vantage point. It is one of My particular favorites. Until you spend an hour with the butt, ( just looking at it) you can't be aware of all the subtle slight movements, or how truly expressive it is. For instance, when relaxed it almost flattens out, if excited.. it pops up like a dog who hears something at the door. And if you laugh... it jiggles like a bowl full of jelly.

So many things to say. First, people have been complaining about how difficult it is to leave comments on my blog, now it's very easy to leave comments, and I encourage you to do so. The door is open.

Second, " Jay" of Studio City California said he doesn't understand what an enhanced print is. After a print is printed I draw on top of the print to make it unique. If you ordered two of the same enhanced print, they would not look the same. Does that make sense??

Third, whenever my sister is in town she always looks at my work, she lingered on this one for what must have been a second... but.... it felt like forever. She simply said " Hmmmm " and moved onto the next one. I thought it was funny that I made my sister look at ass! And I wonder if she knows how hot the butt is... sidenote: I made my family promise to stop reading this.

You just have to look behind the guys going at it;) Randy blue is a client of mine, in fact, if you're ever in his office he has an enhanced print of my "blue boy" hanging behind his desk. "What's an enhanced print?" I'm glad you asked. That is a print on canvas that I have added two to make each one unique.

I love the top picture because the expressions on their faces almost match perfectly. FYI what you can't see is that he's sticking something that looks like a candy cane into the other guys Bum. Unless... you go to Randy blue.

I used to traveling with one of my little journals and a little baggie of colored pencils. After a few glasses of wine, I would pick somebody on the airplane or in the airport and draw them. A new breed of gay

The other day I was waiting for a table at PF Chang's, this young guy came in, in tight jeans, a trendy haircut and a arm full of bracelets. My friend said " wow, he's too gay to function." I corrected my friend and said we should be proud of what we just saw. This is history. This is what every gay guy in the past was fighting for. Not to function within society, but to function as you are,

this guy in the drawing, (a little effeminate) for my taste, but Ball Z. as hell. At 5 foot 7" 145 pounds, this Las Vegas native was a proud Mary. He told me it was unfair that he was naked and I was not ( not the first time I've heard that.) when I didn't comply, he crawled into my lap and straddled my leg. Without thinking about it my index finger lightly traced the crease between his cheeks, he told me that felt good because I had long nails, (I used to chew my nails and I always forget to trim them, it's very embarrassing) I don't remember what we talked about, but we talked for a while, when he said " I think you should fuck me" (very matter-of-fact.) Sometimes models agree to pose on the condition that they don't get fully nude. ( I don't care... Hot tub & a bottle of wine

This former friend of mine... ( I guess we are still friends, we just don't talk, or have not talked in over a year) anyway. We used to work out together, and we've seen each other naked 1000 times in the locker room. Is staring me in the face. I should also mention, I'm seeing this guy and he was comeing over at any moment. I can't do this. ( Every part of me wanted to ) but I can't. I tried to explain this situation but my friend is using this "tool" to pry open my lips and saying " we can do this real quick no one will ever know." I was like a child that would not eat broccoli, he pushed hard and I kept my lips tight. ( Nope!)

This could be my most F'd-up posting... yet

last night my breath was taken away by road kill. Normally, if I see anything on the road that could be dead I look away, pretend it's not there, say out loud " la la la la la la" and then silently wonder whose heart is going to be broken tonight when their beloved pets doesn't return home. How long will they walk around neighborhoods calling out their name, making funny noises in bushes and shaking bags of treats. Then I pray that their little bodies never be found. The horror of finding your friend lifeless in the road. I don't even know what I would do? Stop traffic,... the mess... and the public display of emotion as you with deals loss???

As I was driving I saw a full-grown feline laying lifeless in the medium. Backlit by oncoming traffic I was struck by the beauty of the silhouette of a deceased cat. "she" ( I'm assuming ) was laid out as if basking in the sun, completely relaxed and free of life's worries. The line that flowed from her hips to her rib cage made me wished I was drawing and not driving and.... in a weird way it made me happy that I look for the beauty in Life.

I have two "huge" deadlines in front of me. On top of that I have a bit of a cold. I really, really, really want these projects to go off without a hitch. As for the picture....
I was doodling ( and horny) I had this... "be careful what you wish for" thought in my head. "give me more, mentality"... I love that you can see the terror in his eyes, yet he is fully aroused.

Dirty Little Devil

There was no way to concentrate... Jacob (pictured above) minus the devil tail and horns, was casually leaning against the bar in my living room and talking. (Nothing unusual about that) what made it noteworthy and distracting was.... between sips of his martini he was describing in detail how he was going to seduce me.
